Fontainebleau

A great day in the palace!  Went in our car with our eldest daughter. The others were going in other directions to see an aquarium or go canoeing!

We finally arrived after a stop at the station instead of the town (great bear sculpture in the middle of roundabout).

Parked in underground carpark. And decided to eat as it was 12:00.  A delicious portion of quiche with some salad. Then into the palace and we  did the visit of the state apartments. Takes two hours and I took lots of photos of objects and their write ups to see it all later!  It was so hot 35/6 C.    Not so easy to see some things as they were all protected from the sun by curtains etc!

A very interesting exhibition about Napoleon. But I didn’t have time to read it all.

Ice creams by the lake underneath big parasols and after getting a guide etc in the
Gift shop. Back to the town and after buying a couple of things back home. A couple of miles on Ro looks at the satnav. 6 hours!  We stopped and reprogrammed it.  

So much this evening but no time now!
