The Spiegeltent

We woke up to thunder and torrential rain, so I was pleased that Carole had arranged to pick me up. We’d booked tickets to go and listen to Sarah Perry talking to Richard Holloway about her new book (Enlightenment) at the Book Festival. The skies cleared in the afternoon so we were able to have lunch and then tea and cakes outside in the Edinburgh sunshine.
There was also a break in the clouds late in the evening so I climbed up to the Sware (local hill) to try and catch a glimpse of the Perseid meteor shower but sadly it was a nul points.
