Mock Tudor

Out to the lunchtime recital by Philomusic of Edinburgh at St Mary's. Good string band music, with exceptional recorder playing in the last concerto .. it needn't have been taken quite so fast ..

Concerto Grosso no 2         J Hebden
Concerto for Three Violins Telleman
Rondeau (Abdelazer)           H Purcell
Concerto in F                         G Sammartini

Was in time to get in by the back door which is conveniently at the East end, sat on the front row by the recorder player who was only on in the last section. He had another concert in the evening, being principally a trumpeter.

Back by Randolph Place; the Mock Tudor at no 9, architect T Duncan Rhind, was looking fine, if bizarrely out of place .. rebuilt 1888, new shopfront 1906.

There had been showers in the morning, visible lightning and audible thunder, though nothing close to the city. Dry warm afternoon, 23C high.
