Monday Morning Traffic
Taken 3 minutes after sunrise!
I had just completed my Monday Morning routine of taking the ‘rubbish’ wheelie bins out to the roadside for collection at 6:00 a.m.
Virtually all forms of ‘rubbish’ are now capable of recycling with only a small amount being dispatched in a blue bin for landfill.
I have just taken my morning shower and I see that all has been collected. I tend to bring the bins back into ‘The Policies’ as quickly as possible.
Our ‘street’ is a direct link between Dundee and St Andrews. Traffic can be very heavy in the morning and it is good to keep the pavement unobstructed for pedestrians.
The speed limit is 50 mph, but the road is a fairly long hill with stretches of double lines thus no overtaking permitted.
Cyclists are ‘Kings and Queens of The Road. Passing a cyclist is not permitted unless you can leave the width of a car between you and them.
Fair enough, but not to the drivers of some vehicles!
Later in the day I was passed by a motorcycle travelling at about 130 mph. I had seen him in my rear view mirror, but he certainly gave two of the vehicles in front of our car a real fright.
