Utrecht
Today has been another hot day (29⁰C, 84.2⁰F). We went into Utrecht midmorning and spent several hours wondering through the shopping mall and the nearby streets. We also went to the Domtoren, which is the free standing cathedral spire that dominates the Utrecht skyline. The tower itself was built as part of the Utrecht cathedral between 1321 and 1382, however, due to the lack of funding the nave was never completed. Then on the 1st of August 1674, the nave was destroyed by a tornado. The ruins of which weren't completely cleared 1826, this was to make way for what is now called the Dom Square. The Domtoren is currently under restoration and has been since 2020 (information taken from the official website).
We then came home and Little Man had a lovely time playing in his sandpit and paddling pool. He also had a story read to him by his Granddad, which he greatly enjoyed. He seems to have gone to bed without a fuss.
