impressions

This morning I popped outside to take a photo of all the contrails in the sky from passing aircraft. In fact the atmospheric conditions were such that these were remaining long after the aircraft had gone. I thought I would use it for my blip and reflect on the fact that we leave an impression, an impact, on others and our world and environment, which may well last long after we have moved on or out!

Then this evening I popped down to the local park and caught this image of the black headed gull swooping down to pluck a lump of bread thrown to the local ducks. This fellow made an immediate impression on the surroundings creating a small splash and ripple as well as a fair bit of noise, but unlike this mornings aircraft, the impression soon went away once he took off.

What sort of impression will I/we leave? Will it be short lived and disturbing, or will it have longer term effects for good (or ill)? I know what impressions I want to leave.
