Aurora Borealis.
I went back outside last night. Sat just enjoying the cool air, and the clear night. I worked out (guessed) which way was north, and had to find out how to put my phone camera on night mode.
When I detected a slight change in cloud formation and hue, I snapped on a 10 second exposure. Although not spectacular, I was quite leased with what I got. Although, this wasn't what I saw with my naked eye. I've given slight tweaks, but nothing too drastic. The landscape picture was taken at 11.45pm, and the portrait 15 minutes past midnight, so counts for today's blip!
I also saw three meteors.
