Rach

I was in town early on this morning for teh spa and had a bit of a wander round looking for a blip. I'd not seen Rachel in ages but was told one of her pieces was in the National Gallery just now so went for a look.

Unfortunately since the main gallery, where it was for three weeks, is closed just now it was moved to the friends room in the RSA instead. Thankfully Rach was about so I was able to get in and see it. This wasn't the main piece but a by product of it. They asked her to do something for the EGO self portrait exhibition. HEr final piece was a video self portrait of her painting this self portrait on the wall. She wasn't really happy with the painted version as the nature of posing for the video screen to do it meant she felt the straight on pose was more like a high school study than her usual painting style, but she was really happy with the video piece.

I thought both of them were great.
