Today I was up late again, and just had time to walk Django, shower, and get a bus into Edinburgh to meet my incoming PhD student B. We had a great chat for a couple of hours. He’s clearly someone I could hang out with at a conference, and I can see И getting along with him. It's quite a relief, as the supervisor-PhD student is a relationship that needs to work, if it's not going to become just a chore for the supervisor, and a soulless grind for the student.
