Blended Colour

The sun was behind cloud this evening. It was not overcast and light emanated through gaps giving a subdued glow, neither dim, nor bright, an odd feeling.

Good for capturing colour in the prairie though. The blend of bright yellow from brown-eyed susans, red cardinals and blue lobelia just about covers the spectrum, all set against summer greens.

Hummingbirds zipped in and out, but never still long enough for a shot, the shutter not high enough in this light anyway. Goldfinches harvesting seeds were obliging and gave me a few shots.
