Today we headed up to Deep Run for the funeral of Kent’s oldest brother Jeff.

When we got there it was to find that due to all the heavy rain, they had not been able to successfully dig the grave. As a result, it would be a memorial service just outside the cemetery with the burial just as soon as it was possible for just the immediate family.

Also due to all the soggy ground, we had everyone parking across the road at the Home Place where it was a bit drier.

The actual service went very well and was much better attended than I had anticipated. Even better, the rain held off until after the service was over and even then was only a small shower.

By the time Kent & I got home this evening, we got the news that they had been successful in finishing the grave and getting Jeff buried with Linda, his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren there. All is well.
