The best time of day

The light this morning was particularly nice although it was very cold. I went out to the open deck of the ferry to get some shots of the sunrise. It took 40 minutes before the first glimpse of sun burst through behind Rangitoto but i dont have any ND filters for my new lens so there is a bit of a ring round the sun (ill pop it in my Blipfolio).
I liked this one. they look like terns from the outline but thats a guess.
