madwill's world

Caterpillars

I, and several other blippers, have been commenting about the lack of butterflies around this year.

It would appear that there must have been at least two in our garden - as evidenced by the army of caterpillars munching their way through Mrs madwill’s courgette plants.

Here are just a few - but there are dozens more. I believe them to be from ‘Large White’ aka ‘Cabbage White’ butterflies. The colours are amazing for something that becomes such a plain white butterfly.

At least we have had a few courgettes from the plants! We had grilled courgette slices with our steak for tea last night!

Runner beans starting to flood the dinner plate now as well.
