Shoe
You have to watch this in large. Today I dedicated the day to packing. And put the little boot in a box which was made by hand by a shoemaker in 1948. Right after the war when nothing could be bought in a store. People exchanged goods for payment then.
It was made for my first steps outside in a little village where cow-, goose- and sheep droppings lay on the street. Every evening I welcomed the shepherd with his dogs and sheep, when they returned after a day of grazing in the fields.
My parents moved 16 times while I was living with them. I lived in three different countries and many different houses/apartments with them.
Somehow I kept that rhythm in my bones and get restless when the furniture stands too long at one and the same place. So I kept moving - 5 times as a student, 5 times in Hamburg and then the big move to America and even here , now, I am again preparing move number three.
But this will be the last time I do this. The last time I pack my little boots into a box. They will not walk further. If there needs to be another move, it will not be done by me…
