Muntjacs
In front of our house is a semi-circular grassy area designated as a children's play area, which is backed by a strip of mature woodland. We know there are muntjacs in the woods and have occasionally seen one walking by (and I suspect they were responsible for neatly biting off all the buds of the daffodils and tulips in the front garden earlier this year). This morning, we were looking out of the bedroom window and spotted two of them at the edge of the play area browsing leaves from the scrubby plants and blackberries at the edge of the wood.
They stayed there for quite a while so I was able to get a few shots, albeit at the full zoom of my lens and then with a bit of crop in processing. Good to see them though, and we enjoyed watching them until a dog walker came by and the dog straining at the leash scared them off.
A bit cooler today so this afternoon we did the Bayfield circular walk which was very pleasant.
