Test shot

(14/8/24)

It's been quite a day with the usual ups and downs. A new work-week began which was fine, especially as I am doing half-days all week. While tidying up last night, I discovered this Fujifilm compact camera (my one and only compact) which I bought back in February 2009. It's a camera I happily used for a few years and then gave it to one of G's brothers. He didn't use it enough, so he returned it.

I remember feeling at the time that the image quality it was producing wasn't as good as when it was new, so I had the sensor changed. That didn't make a difference, so I just put it aside to deal with at a later date. As usual, the item got "lost" in the flat (actually, it has been in a tray close to where I sit in the evenings!).

Anyway, as I am on a mission this summer to repair as many things as I can, I charged the battery and took a picture. I couldn't believe it when it produced a decent image. It was late evening, so my blip is the first test shot taken in daylight. It's not too bad! The attraction of this camera is its size. It's so light and easy to carry, and if I can get a decent image with it, it will be the camera to carry into the office.

Keith, in the garage, promised the car at 5 PM, so I took a taxi there. They had complications, so I didn't get the car until after 7. The workshop was closed by this time, and Keith said there was one last thing to fit. He has ordered the part, and I can use the car until it comes, so I went to Festival City where I treated myself to an Eataly Penne Arabbiata!

I have an early start tomorrow, so I was pleased to get to bed slightly earlier, having prepared everything I need to take with me. My travel rucksack has come into its own. I can't believe how much I can fit into it!

PS. The view is from my desk, when I look right.
