Just the two of us ...

Today is Smithers’ birthday, and he’s catching me up. For the next seven months we’ll be the same age, then I’ll be a year older than him for the next five months!

As I mentioned yesterday, all our sons are abroad at the moment, so we’ve exchanged text messages with the Traveller, who is currently in Australia on business, and had FaceTimes with our eldest and middle sons, who are in Majorca and Poland respectively. 

I find it very hard to come up with an original idea every year for Smithers’ birthday card, but inspiration finally came to me when I realised that it will be the first time ever that we haven’t had a visit from any of our sons on his special day.
