Dun Laoghaire Piers

I blipped about The Metals on Monday. You can see Dalkey in the background. That is where they got the stone for to build the piers in Dun Laoghaire. Dun Laoghaire was called Kingstown at the time. It was a hazardous and dangerous job and many of the work people were killed or injured at the time. The stone was dynamited out of the quarry there and sent on a rail along The Metals till it reached its destination here.
