Plans

Beautiful warm sunny day. I woke very early having gone to sleep earlier than usual, and once I realised I wasn’t going back to sleep I read the paper and then got up and did a pile of ironing.before walking down into town to meet RB and have my annual review rather than the series I’m doing for other people . We had a good chat then I walked home again, talking to S who’s having an awful time with a flea infestation, and had a sandwich for lunch. Was about to start on more blurb book making and found a couple of video tutorials more helpful than the ones we watched yesterday,, but had trouble with the shared album again and realised I was very tired, so ended up (unusually) having a nap. I felt refreshed afterwards in time to walk down to the open day at the old Royal High School building on Calton Hill. @AnneJohn was able to join me and we enjoyed a tour of the building which is looking in remarkably better condition than the old Royal Infirmary was before we started work to create the Futures Institute. It’s been empty a lot longer, and work is about to start to create a new ‘National Music Centre’ (although difficult to know what that’s really going to be!). Several people I knew were there and we both enjoyed good chats with them over drinks and very tasty canapés whilst a string trio played. The plans look like it will be beautiful, with spectacular views which of course were shown to good effect in the gorgeous weather.
Home for leftovers of last night’s supper and some binge watching of New Amsterdam which is nonsense but entertaining.
