Rare Breed Hebridean Sheep
This small flock grazes each year at this time on this patch of land between the dunes and the Old Course Golf Course at St Andrews. You can see golfers in the background.
We went to St Andrews for food shopping, which is pretty easy at the moment because I’m only managing soups and smoothies! After that we drove along to the West Sands. It was busy at that end of town because the AIG Womens Open Golf Tournament is due to start soon. Lots of preparation going on and lots of visitors walking around.
I drove along to the far end of the beach , parked and we walked along past the sheep, over the dunes, then along the beach at the end, which faces Leuchars Airfield. We go there because it tends to be quieter, and in fact, we had the beach to ourselves.
It was overcast and raining off and on. As we drove home the sky got darker and we couldn’t actually get out the car for about five minutes when we parked as there was thunder and heavy rain by this point. Windows washed though - there’s always a bonus! As I write this there’s blue sky, white clouds and glorious sunshine. :-)
