Poppies in evening light

It was another grey day, early on, after rain overnight, but it brightened up after lunch. This allowed us to get the slabs cleaned in the corner we've been working on (see extra, taken much later on). The evening sunlight also enticed us into the garden after dinner (excellent sea trout from ProFish) for a drink. The poppies are now quite sparse and leggy, so probably need cutting back, but there are still a few lovely examples, perfect against the evening light. We get so much pleasure from this garden. Long may that continue!

There was little else worth noting about the day, although I did self-indulgently finish the next book group book after breakfast, before starting work.
