I have been missing playing in a band but with all we have on at the moment it is impossible to commit to playing for one. However a friend asked if I’d like to have a blow with Keighley Salvation Army band, and as there was no knitting group tonight I thought why not!

Whilst my facial muscles were protesting, I was amazed how my eyes, fingers and diaphragm worked together. I enjoyed every moment of it, fully switched off from everything for a glorious hour and a half.
