Had a delightful visit with my friend Barbara today at the "retirement home" where she and her husband live. It's like a large Italian villa full of people over a certain age that comes with restaurant, entertainment and cleaning service. Daily movies in the arm chair filled cinema, weekly theme parties, library, hairstylist, indoor and outdoor pool, age appropriate exercise classes, why not? Need a ride to San Francisco for a show? No problem. It's so contrary to my stereotype of how old people end up I always feel like I'm in an alternate universe, one I would gladly live in but don't really believe exists.
