View from the Train
We are home from our train trip to North Dakota for the funeral for my oldest sister, Kathi. I'm sure behind on posting here, but I do plan to catch up. I just couldn't think about it while away.
Everything was great, sorrowful, fun, and exhausting.
Here, morning breaks in the scablands of eastern Washington. Amtrak is fine, but they don't clean the windows; we joked about volunteering to clean the outsides of the windows, at least in the view car, at Union Station, or maybe equipping ourselves with squeegees for our next trip.
It's a less than perfect endeavor, the overnight ride, but how I love watching the countryside; it satisfies my sense of where I am, and gives me a lot of time to think.
