Poundbury

A long-awaited trip to Poundbury.  Was I glad I went? Yes, it was interesting to see what King Charles and Prince William have made of the place.  Was I impressed? Not really.  Individual houses were attractive, but the overall effect was a bit overwhelming. Queen Mother Square was filled with cars - so much for protecting the environment - and difficult to negotiate.  The only shops I saw were a Waitrose (of course!) and a few pretentious little places selling unnecessary items at eye-watering prices.  An experience anyway and the bus service is excellent - or would have been if Dorchester wasn't just one big traffic jam.
