Electrified Old Sailplane

I finished the electrification of one of my old radio controlled sailplanes this morning.

My "Geezer Air Force" trainer plane is now fully operational.

This old plane last flew in 1995.

Chris and I had a lot of fun trying to keep it in the air.

On one occasion it was flying straight at us, under my control (more or less).

I timed my pull out badly and missed Chris by inches.

He still talks about it as if he'd been strafed by an A-10.

It's quite a kick to resurrect this plane and restart this most enjoyable hobby in a whole new mode with electric motors replacing the gas engines.
