Floral fertility

My wife bought and planted this plant to add fertility to the soil. Apparently it has deep roots and draws up nutrients that other plants can't get at. The flowers also attract a lot of insects and the bees like it in particular. Apparently you can let it seed and it's easier to control than some other fertilising plants which can become invasive - or so the theory goes. We'll know next year!
