Erosion
After tropical storm Debby passed last week, along with her trailing bands of rain which lingered for days, we finally made it back to the beach on Wednesday. As you can see behind K, the storm cut away a section about 5 feet deep, and dumped the sand about 40 feet offshore. Thankfully, this severe erosion didn't stretch the whole length of the beach - it was limited to about 700 yards, right around our usual spot! We have seen the same sort of thing happen before after a beach restoration project - the ocean wants its sand back, I guess.
