Embsay
Day out today. We drove up to the auction mart near Skipton to have a look around Art in the Pen. This is over 100 artists exhibiting, but the event is held in a livestock auction mart, so each arts gets a sheep pen to show their stuff from. There were lots of people there and some of the artists seemed to be doing a good trade.
From there we had a quick wander at a memorial wood before driving to Embsay Station to look at the steam trains and get a lovely toastie from the cafe. After lunch another train turned up which was running a murder mystery event, so there were actors on the platform answering questions and giving clues to the participants. We had a quick look around while they were doing that and then we stopped for tea and cake at the cafe before returning home.
