Hanging on

It was quite breezy in the morning when Bertie and I ventured out along the track to Kildavie but at least it kept the midges away. As I walked along I noticed these two young conifers that had managed to sink their roots into the near-vertical rocky slope. They look very healthy but I wonder how long they will survive with very little soil to help them thrive.
