Firsts

I know it’s nearing the end of summer when the bamboo begins to flower and the jewelweed suddenly appears • While out looking for a blip a flash of yellow in the cherry tree caught my attention. An elusive bird made it impossible to capture a decent picture but it was a first for me: a female American redstart, a type of warbler :) • Another first caught my attention while I was following a white admiral in the butterfly garden. It was a rather large, dark and unusual insect, with wings. Again, not a good photo to share but it was a swamp cicada! Definitely a strange one, hope I see it again :) • I’m baking vegan chocolate chip cookies. It’s been on my mind for days and today was the day! Yum! • Peace & Love
