Lace Cap Hydrangeas
Working on my shady borders today I was delighted to see the lace caps blooming several weeks after the mopheads, which are still going strong.
Apart from the inevitable weeding, I planted a dozen Tricyrtis and left markers to ensure I don’t forget where I put them. We’re encouraging a Clematis Armandii to climb up a tree, so ladders, vine eyes, wire and string came in useful. After cutting back the seedheads of aconitum, watering the camellia to ensure healthy flowering next season, propping up Gillenia trifoliata, planting 3 Iris ensata with fingers crossed, I potted up a Lysimachia for a friend and arranged coffee and blether with her when she collects it. Dyker still working on the wall which looks very nice.
