Scottish Printmakers exhibition

Have you ever fancied trying  your hand at printmaking? Well, this weekend at Stirling university you have a chance to see and learn exactly what traditional printmaking is all about. And talk to the artists, more than forty are taking part.

For Scottish printmakers have got together to hold their first ever Festival of Printmaking at Stirling University.

It was so popular this morning that people could not get in. Some friends warned me, so I went much later in the day.
As expected, there were plenty of landscapes and animals showcasing the technical skill and artistry of the printmakers.
But I prefer something a bit different and was attracted to the work of Emma Jones who works with organic materials and creates wall hangings.
This is much more than an exhibition of prints though and they are taking advantage of the  empty rooms on campus to run various demonstrations including one  using a garden roller to make prints as well as showcasing different methods of printmaking.

The surprise is that this is the first time Scottish Printmakers have got together to hold an exhibition.
They are so delighted its proved so popular they have already booked this venue for next year.
