Forest Fire

As we were packing up this morning I was getting traffic alerts on my phone about the normal route home, Hood Canal Bridge and Hwy 3.  After our 2 1/2 hour wait at the bridge the other night we decided to take another route that is just a little longer but very pretty along the Hood Canal.(opposite side). At Brinnon there was a forest fire up the mountain and lots of cars were pulled over watching the elk that must have been forced down the mountain by the fire.  There was also a fire helicopter working and no where safe to park so we kept driving.  Further south at the Duckabush River, up the mountain, there was another forest fire.  This one had very large area off the road we could pull over safely and not be in the way of traffic or the firefighters.  The fire helicopter would dip into the Hood Canal and fly back into the fire dump the water and come back for more.  I will add some of the helicopter getting the water in the Extra Photos, if anyone is interested.

It is getting very dark out now, we have severe thunderstorm warnings for the next few hours.  The rain will be good, but worried that the lightening may start more forest fires.
