Nasturtiums
It's funny how some things never grow and then unexpectedly one year they suddenly do. Nasturtiums are a case to point for us. I think I may have planted them for 15 consecutive years and nothing - but lo...
Our outdoor tomatoes have been another startling surprise this year. We've had them before but they have always been reluctant to turn red. This year we weren't going to bother but somehow we did and it was worth it.
Otherwise, I suspect our potatoes are unimpressive as will be the sweetcorn. French beans however came to the rescue and in fact I planted some more a few weeks ago. The first ones I planted were all gobbled up by something.
It has been sweltering hot today and our walk was punctuated rather early on by a cup of coffee with EG who is here for a few days. This meant that we overheated on the remainder of the circuit.
I threw a couple of pots this afternoon and that's the abrasive clay nearly finished. Twenty five kilos sounds quite a lot but I've been using at least 2 Kg per pot.
