Shelter, Sculpture or Bonfire

This is looking East from near the mouth of the River Spey, close to the Scottish Dolphin Centre. We visited the centre and one of the staff showed us the bone collection (it was really for 5 year old Arthur, but I think the adults enjoyed it as much). Then we walked over the high shingle wall and down towards the sea for a play.

My shot shows some of the massive pile of shingle that separates the sea from river, maybe 7m high in places. The main focus was the pile of driftwood that been leant against each other. These appear every so often along the shore, but what are they? A pile of wood to burn, an artistic creation, or maybe a frame for a wigwam.
