Danger Girls!
Spent a lot of yesterday preparing for today's family BBQ. It takes a long time to make Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Salsa (chopping tomatoes and parsley seems to take forever!), Devilled Eggs, etc...... A bit of trouble getting the charcoal going, I used firelighters but didn't seem to be very effective so got some packaging that was in the paper recycle bin, that did the trick.
It was very good with burgers & sausages (both veggy and meaty), Haloumi on sticks, chicken (plain and 'chinese'). There is always lots left over so we didn't go mad with the meat.
I took the girls to a children's party for 15:00 and the lady hosting it said I could leave them (I was going to ask anyway!). The girls were dressed as Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, and Hermione Grainer from Harry Potter. We went back with an hour still to go, it finished at 17:30, and they were having a great time. Then they spotted something dangerous - it's like a magnet to them! They headed across the rugby pitch, it was being held on the grounds of Hucclecote Rugby Club, to the roller used to flatten the ground.
They were all over it so I headed off to tell them to get off it, but they saw me coming and I was a bit late in catching all three of them on it, two of them managed to scramble off quickly. The other one with them (behind them in the bottom photo) was the birthday girl, her 4th birthday. She was the sister of a girl in the twins class and there were a few from the class there so plenty of friends for the girls to play with.
And then, this evening, a playing bath for the girls including the use of foaming soap, which comes from a can. It's really creamy and they love to make 'Ice Cream', 'Milk Shakes' etc. with it in plastic cups in the bath.
They also got me with it joking that it made me look like Santa Claus. See Extra!!!
Another fun packed day.
