A day in the life

By Shelling

Day 5

I left Karin after sharing bed and night with two kittens and their mother and went to Härnösands International day, where immigrants cook and sell food from their respective countries. The food was as always good, the atmosphere was friendly, parking was full, foreign music was played from the stage and people enjoyed themselves in the nice weather. It was quite overwhelming and totally forgot to use my camera.

After the event I went to visit my old musician friend and colleague, Olle and his wife, some kilometres outside town. Apart from being an excellent musician and teacher, he’s also a farmer, horeseman, carpenter and blacksmith. They’ve built a paradise on their own. Last I saw the farm it had only a few buildings, now it’s like a village of it’s own. His daughters family has moved into the main house while they are living in the original old cottage, enjoying their lives as pensioners. He likes challenges and has built this six-sided henhouse of wood from his own forest and sawed in his own sawmill. I was so glad to meet them again and very impressed by everything they’ve acheived.

The extra is from one of his photos were we are playing at a wedding somewhere some thirty five years ago.
