Rackwick shoreline

Across to Rackwick this morning for a quick rake about. No sign of Acker Bilk.

A bit more sand has come in although the beach is nothing like its former self. However better than it was a few years ago when all the sand was taken away in a south-east gale. At that time the two cables that can be used to import electricity to Orkney were exceedingly exposed. We took some photographs and went across to the Kirkwall Power Station; they somewhat alarmed the manager.

It's preternaturally warm today; is there a connection with Carol Kirkland ?

Bob and Maggie arrive from Forres tomorrow - it's their annual migratory visit - it's going to be a hoot.
