It's A Gas! Gas! Gasometer

Ever since I saw shashins excellent blip of Granton Gasworks on only my second day of blipping I have been waiting to go back up to Carlisle to get a shot of this nice blue painted one in good weather. No luck with the weather then! But, hey, I had to go to sort a job for a customer and it wasn't actually raining so here it is.

I just love these monuments to the days of Town Gas.

I learned an important lesson today about my new camera! When it said only put one filter on at a time it really did mean - Take off the skylight filter before putting on the polarizing filter! I really don't like to crop, preferring to compose the picture on the LCD.
