One day at a time

Undertaking

Living in a rural area we still have a local undertaker. While the Monday Men were cutting the grass James and Sally arrived in the churchyard to prepare the final resting place for Ann, a local woman who has lived here all her life and whose funeral is tomorrow.
I know James and Sally very well. We worked together to support the bereaved for many years.
They now have some serious equipment. Many years ago I took a photo of James with his head just showing in a grave he was finishing after digging it out by hand. He's now too old for that, he said today. He has two daughters who are taking on more and more. But these two look so incredibly young and fit (to me) because they are both tri-atheletes. We had a lovely conversation before they got stuck in.
