Sleepy Girl

Still can't believe how fearful the little formerly semi-feral kitten was when she first arrived, but will now come for walks around the field, rubbing against us as she passes; jumping up on the sofa to snuggle next to Mel; and barely twitching a whisker when touched when sleeping.

That was actually one of the tactics to gain her trust. She's was always a deep sleeper, so I used to go and stroke her, coaxing a slumbering purr from her. She'd initially wake up after a bit and realise I was way too close and jump away, but in time she realised she was purring because she enjoyed the contact.

Just as well really, given the number of ticks we have to regularly remove as a result of her wanderings...
