TWO OLD FRIENDS

It's Mono Monday and the theme is---laughter.
~
Nothing better than two old friends enjoying a good joke.  But these two old friends are world famous race car drivers...Brian Redman on the left and Doc Bundy on the right.  Brian is a font of stories and jokes and he had Doc rolling in the aisles after one of Doc's race victories while together in Victory Lane.  This shot was made prior to 2020.

If you're an interested motorhead (petrolhead), read on:

Brian Redman is a retired British racing driver now living in Florida, USA.  He drove for Cooper, Williams, Surtees, McLaren, BRM and Shadow.  Racing for Carl Haas and Jim Hall's Chaparral cars, he won the '74, '75 and '76 SCCA Formula 5000 series and has raced in nearly every category of racing, including Formula One.  He attends the WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman every race season at Road America where I am track photographer.

Harry "Doc" Bundy is a former American race car driver who competed in IMSA, 24 Hours of Le Mans, NASCAR Rolex Grand Am, American Le Mans series, USRRC and SCCA World Challenge.  In his retirement, he went on to become a TV announcer and he continued to drive for the "fun of it."  Doc specializes in historic racers and drives a Lotus 23b and Mario Andretti's 1979 John Player Special.  In January 2020, Doc was hospitalized with COVID-19 virus and subsequently underwent heart surgery to repair damage caused by the virus.
