For Mom on her Birthday

" Away ! we know that tears are vain,
That death nor heeds nor hears distress :
Will this unteach us to complain?
Or make one mourner weep the less?
And thou---who tell'st me to forget,
Thy looks are wan, thine eyes are wet."

The hawks were back this morning chasing chipmunks in the backyard. It seems that both Herons and Hawks have discovered an area where the chipmunks reside. Several mornings a week finds one and sometimes two Hawks sitting in the mulch waiting for the little fellows to raise their heads.
Today is Mom's birthday and she is very much in my thoughts. Give your Moms a hug or call if you aren't near.
