Chenies Manor

We had a National Trust group outing to Chenies Manor on the Bucks/Herts border today. Built starting in 1460 and home to the Dukes of Bedford for many years.

There is a claim that it is one of the earliest houses built of bricks.
The family that now own the property have undertaken extensive restoration and the conducted tour around the interior was fascinating.

The property is open the public regularly, conducted tours can be arranged and many weddings take place  here. There are interesting gardens with spring displays of tulips and late summer dahlias.

The extra is a shot of a symmetrical aspect of the garden.
