Dual Colours of Sunset

The sinking sun sends its rays through a thicker layer of our atmosphere, picking up and reflecting off all sorts of debris like carbon particles as it does so, hence the warm yellow/orange/red colours. At the same time weaker ambient light which still remains comes at us more directly through a thinner layer of the atmosphere, resulting in a much higher colour temperature of from 5 to 10 thousand degrees Kelvin. Thus it records as blue. Thus the same setting sun produces both warm and cool colours at the same time. Isn't nature quite amazing?
