Going home day 1

We left our holiday home as planned at 08:15.
So far so good.
What followed was a long long day with traffic jams, diversions and downpours.
I never had such an awfull drive home. It seemed as if we didn't make any progress at all.
Because of bad weather last night in Austria, the highway we were supposed to take was closed. All the traffic going from Italy to Germany was diverted via the A12, Innsbruck towards Munich.
Exactly the road I wanted to avoid at all costs.
In a nutshell: after hours of jams, delays and diversions within diversions, we reached Munich. We went through the heart of the city, mostly via tunnels (Mittler Ring) and once we came out of those the downpours started. Heavy downpours!! My topspeed went down to no more than 20km/h.

All and all it took us 13 hours to cover just 740km.
At 21:15 we finally reached our hotel for the night near Schlitz. Approximately 100km south of Kassel.

All the parkings were completely full during the day. In fact we paused only once, and I stopped once to refuel. That was it and that's not enough for a 13 hours drive. But we made it!

Good night! I'm pooped.
