A day of contrasts
A morning of doing things. An early dental appointment where my teeth were assaulted by the hygienist. A much more relaxed visit to the dentist’s chair. All good.
I realised today I’ve been going to this dental practice, every six months to the same room for 48 years and only had two dentists in that time!
The other activity was to visit the tip with 10 bags of apples in various states of decay. Today’s blip is an opportunist shot of one of those mechanical dinosaurs between bites of rubbish.
The afternoon was such a contrast as we visited people we’d met on Sanday in the Orkneys last May when we found they had a house in Lenham just down the road from us. They alternate their time between Kent and Sanday and are here until the middle of September.
We had a wonderful time, sitting on their porch, high up on the North Downs looking south over to the Weald of Kent with tea and cake. Much fat was chewed over 3 or more hours! We hope to see them again before they return home.
In news from California, Landon had his first day in Grade 1. He was holding a poster giving his name, what he loved and what he wanted to be. The most sobering piece of information was that he’s in the class graduating in 2036!
