On the way home we diverted via Cambo Gardens where there were many very colourful flowers and edible plants.  Of interest was the North American Prairie Garden with grasses and flowers that can be found in the prairies.  The seed had been planted in 2008 with the area managed each winter to simulate the natural processes but now there are plans to replace them with native wildflowers. In the walled garden there is a plot with traditional meadow flowers and sections with “everlasting flowers”, roses and many flowers found in gardens here today.  The photo shows wild flowers and a nearby field with Lacy Phacelia.  The extra shows some of the flowers including Phacelia and some from the prairies.
