Shaking off the summer rain (Day 3390)

A slower, later start to the day today and after coffee with my beautiful wife, we loaded ourselves and Sigyn into the truck and made for Stromness. After getting organised at Mum's we headed to the Kirkyard where I took a cord and helped lay "Auntie" Anita to rest. She was a lovely lady, a constant in childhood holiday memories and, once I moved here, a great person to have a blether with. There were a few times she called me out to attend to a small job for her, and she would always pull up a chair and get all my news. She will be missed. The weather was reasonably kind to us, and the worst of the rain held off until the end of the graveside service.
At the family get together afterwards I had a good catch up with K who has been a massive source of support to me this year.
HV said our goodbyes to everyone and headed back to Mum's and I took Sigyn out for a wander in typical summer weather - 12⁰C, hammering down rain and blowing a gale. It was unpleasant.
Back to Mum's to dry off, and as the weather improved a bit HV and I collected a new (to us) quad and got the horses sorted out with more hay, before collecting Sigyn and heading home.
